Board Basics Bootcamp
Equip Your Board to Excel
A capable nonprofit board is equipped with the knowledge and skills to fulfill their responsibilities and contribute to the organization's success.
The problem is no one really teaches us what it means to be on a nonprofit Board until we're sitting in our first meeting.
Board leaders often miss out on proper on-boarding or training, neglecting the discussion on the Board and Executive Director relationship. Unclear boundaries and a Board's misplaced focus often prevail.
I’ve had experience on all sides of this challenge.
Throughout my career, I've witnessed the dynamics between boards and executive teams from multiple perspectives. As a CEO, I had to navigate the complexities of collaborating effectively with my board, ensuring alignment on strategic goals, and maintaining open communication. As a board member and chair, my focus shifted toward guiding the organization's mission, providing oversight, and offering strategic counsel.
These experiences provided me with invaluable insights into the potential pitfalls and challenges that can arise when boards and staff are misaligned. As a consultant, I've witnessed firsthand the detrimental impact of such disconnects, which can manifest as misunderstandings, conflicts, and a lack of unified direction. By leveraging my diverse background and expertise, I aim to bridge these gaps, fostering collaboration and ensuring that boards and executive teams work cohesively toward achieving shared objectives.
That’s why we are pleased to announce our latest program: Board Basics Bootcamp.
